I thought that the readings assigned for this week were interesting, but specifically the article written by Leetaru intrigued me. In summary, the Leetaru reading discussed how the act of digitizing everything is creating a gap in our knowledge. As we make more things digitally accessible, materials from the 1920s to 1980s is getting left behind, and along with it, all the information contained in them.

I found this thought-provoking because many people see the Internet as the ultimate database – yet this article proves them all wrong. In fact, instead of being the all-complete database with all the knowledge that humankind knows, it’s a collection of materials that’s missing a chunk of time and its knowledge. Although I personally haven’t noticed this discrepancy, I’ll be more vigilant about noticing things like that.

In other news, I think that I’ve been getting more familiar with WordPress this week. I’m far from being proficient with it, but I learned how to filter out content in feeds using the query loop block. This has really helped my better organize my blog and Posiel feeds.

I also found the guest author post a little bit difficult to start. It was hard to decide who to have as the guest, as well as what format to do the assignment is. The main difficulty was trying to pick a character/author who had a specific voice that I knew well enough to try to imitate.
